Daschle Issues Statement After Viewing Photos and Videos of Abuse in Military Prisons
WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Tom Daschle issued the following statement after reviewing additional photos and videos of abuse in military prisons in Iraq.
"The Department of Defense permitted members of the Senate to view videos and additional photos of the abuse of Iraqi detainees. The pictures were deeply disturbing and appalling.
America has always led by example and abided by the rule of law, which is why the Senate unanimously agreed this week that those responsible for these acts must be held accountable."
